A 56 year old female presented with the chief complaint of a dark spot in her right eye, off to the side. The Optomap revealed the retinal horseshoe tear at 12:00 with a retinal detachment in the superior nasal retina. See if you can spot it.
Here was a patient in her sixties who had grew up in Illinois, in the United States. This is the Ohio-Mississippi river valley. She has never had an explanation as to why she lost her vision in the left eye. This is Presumed Ocular Histoplasmosis Syndrome.
